Candon City is home. And everytime I go home, the place looks a little more different, although the essentials remain the same - the unassumingly quiet beach, the calamay stand, the crowded plaza, the 400-year-old church, the smelly flea market, the unruly tricycles, the fresh coconuts, the laidback neighbors, the fresh fish and vegetables, but most of all, the feeling of being right where I began!

 | dito dumadaong ang mga bangka, tita.. di talaga ito ang swimming area, pero it's so pretty with all the rocks around... nice for pictures. :) |
 | still very small but flowery! |
 | the rocks are alive (with the sound of music). How I love the view! |
 | shores that speak to me even in my sleep in silence and yet, its words it wouldn´t keep palm trees sway to the whispers of the sea "if there´s paradise this must it be"
I have traveled to countries, I´ve been to places and I´ve seen so wondrous mountains and valleys but many a great poet who composed many a great poem wouldn´t hesitate a word for the beauty of tamurong.
glow fairly my dearly beloved home in you the familiar sentiment I own sparkle in the bright candid morn that lights my hopes as I hum your song

 | Hi Sunny! Are you in the Philippines? If you are, let me know. You can reach me at 0917-8836047. Take care. |
 | Welcome back, Fr. Sunny to frigid Chicago!! bet your pinas sojourn was great fun! I love these topiaries...are these from your Mom's garden?? Lovely!! |
 | yes, I was so inspired by your photos esp. those from the beach. I was feeling homesick too.
I have indulged myself with painting and I think I will post one with a poem. Or perhaps I should collect them and one day have an exhibition (he he). Baka naman magkacompetition pa kami nina Angelo at Aldrin diyan? Naks! Hahaahahaaa... but oh tita, well, i knew you can write, but it's different when one reads an actual free flowing poem... so keep writing, and make sure to save and bind what you write. those are footprints.
my visit to pinas and home has been good, as always. lola is fine, her skin looks even better than the last time i saw her. she does not remember me, of course, but that's OK. papa also visited her, when he was with us for a weekend.
maybe soon, we can go home at the same time, huh? |
 | my God Auntie LOVE this poem.... kaka miss na sa atin...Uwi na nga kami =) |
 | mangosteen and lanzones are tied on first place amongst mg favorite fruits of all time.... I hate you Sunny!!! (LOL) |
 | Hey I have been having Rose's calamay from Candon for breakfast lately. Ang sarap. |

 | nagpanaoan wrote on Jan 25, '07, edited on Jan 25, '07 Tita Vivs, nakuha na po lahat ng ate ko, immediately, pagdating ko dito. Sa susunod na lang... itatago ko mabuti. I think she meant me. The calamay was sent by a friend from NY who gets it back home (Vigan). Nagsawa na ata kaya she forwarded it here. But dalawang supot lang. |
